Eight Sleep

Eight Sleep is a sleep technology company that develops intelligent systems designed to improve sleep quality, recovery, and overall performance. Founded in 2014, the company is best known for the Pod, a connected sleep system that fits over an existing mattress and dynamically heats or cools each side of the bed based on individual preferences and sleep patterns.

The Pod combines temperature regulation with sensors that track metrics including heart rate, heart-rate variability, sleep stages, respiratory patterns, and snoring. Eight Sleep’s Autopilot software uses this data, along with each user’s sleep history and environmental factors, to automatically adjust the sleep environment throughout the night. Its latest systems also offer features including independent temperature zones, vibration and thermal alarms, and automated elevation to help mitigate snoring.
